Let the guests keep their tea cup, if they'd like to, to take home and reuse! (Special reusable party favor!) Also, we've planned a birthday party craft or art project that guests take home as their party favor. Treasure hunt clues to find the birthday cake are popular with mine (clue to clue to clue).
This is *also* an amazing idea! Now I need to do some thrifting. I think Mamie is bringing some tea cups too. At this same location (The Plant) we had a birthday party "owl walk" for Bea--we did not hear any owls because 5-year-olds are noisy. But it was fun!
i have some cups! also leftover paper plates which turned upside down or not can be festooned with recycled ribbons buttons etc remember the easter parade we had at jeannie and papa’s(with Foxie!❤️)
I do remember that! The parade! Also remember the parade they have when Ramona has the "surprise" party? I love that the moms just drop the kids at the curb (after merely hearing from their 4yo kids about this party) and then screech away.
Hi Belle! Cinelle here! We love the “no gifts” idea! We’ve certainly done a tea party with thrifted and borrowed dishes and cups, and we’ve also done a “If you must absolutely bring a gift, wooden, recycled, or upcycled toys only please!” The activity that hasn’t gotten old in my ten years of throwing kid parties is our famous Costume Chest. I have a chest full of costumes, accessories, hats, mardi gras masks I’ve kept (including Chick-fil-A paper hats), thrifted, or made out of old clothes, and it is ALWAYS a hit—for kids ages 0-94 (my husband’s grandma was 94 when she donned bunny ears at one of our parties). I set up a photoshoot with our iPad and the resulting photos are always so fun—and I email them to parents as party favors. :)
That is a phenomenal idea, Cinelle! We have so many costumes, and the local place we're having it (also a brewery, ha) has adorable spots for photos. Absolutely copying this idea.
just shared with cousin Isaiah! the birthday party ideas are great and we
can’t wait to come to Harriet’s party!
we love you xxxooo
I love all these wonderful ideas and what a great piece in Ecotone. Thank you! ( I want a phone like Harriet’s! )
