I was standing in checkout at Harris Teeter. An unmasked woman was checking out. The lady behind her as well as myself wore masks. The unmasked woman turned around and yelled at the masked woman, “Can you move back? You make me uncomfortable being so close!” Duh!!!! I wanted to reprimand her for not wearing a mask but kept my mouth closed…
I know, me too! But it's also interesting that the people I've heard feeling bad about not speaking up... are women! Meanwhile, I have not witnessed a man speaking up yet.
Update: here is what Lowes Foods wrote back to me: "The health and safety of our hosts and guests are our top priority. We will continue to follow the guidance provided by the CDC. Currently, all hosts and vendors must wear a face covering. We kindly request that all guests wear a face covering as well while shopping in our stores regardless of their vaccination status." I guess "kindly request" means "do what you like, people!" but it really makes me think, reading Pam's and Joanna's posts, that these meaningless signs are actually kind of dangerous, because they make me *think* it's safe to shop there. It's not like everyone can shop at Weaver St (though I do love their mask seriousness). Where to get cat food, etc?
Thank you. You do more good than you know! Pat H
Thank you, Pat--you too! xo
Thank you providing a letter template. I will use it. my love to all.

Ugh, I imagine the HT in Burlington is another "kindly request" space!
Ughhhh, these maskless dudes!!! Thank you for speaking up in the Chatham Lowes, Belle!!! I'm often too intimidated to do so!
