Wow, those videos are riveting! Our family’s experience raising tadpoles many years ago ended less happily than some of these accounts. Thrilled to find a bunch of tiny tadpoles in a puddle close to our house, my husband and I took them inside and put them in a bowl so that the kids could watch them grow. Our kids were young at the time, we had recently moved from New York City to a smaller city, and we congratulated ourselves on creating this cool new activity for kids. Until a neighbour came by, looked into our bowl, and said, “you do know that you’re raising mosquitoes not frogs, don’t you?”! On the positive side, our kids did learn many lessons in that experience not least of which was the ignorance of their parents :)
