Eloise was my absolute favorite as a child and I loved sharing it with my two kids too! While I was still little, The Plaza fixed up a room like Eloise's and I (a little girl growing up in Manhattan) got to see it. What a thrill!!
That sounds amazing and what a fun task for whoever designed the room! Harriet has a painting of Eloise that my mom (Mamie) painted when she was a little girl. It's totally adorable.
i bought my 8 year old grandson, Miles, the first 3 books in the According to Humphrey Series by Betty G. Birney: "The World According to Humphrey" ,"Friendship According to Humphrey", and "Trouble According to Humphrey". Humphrey is a hamster and the class pet in room 26. he is the narrator of this wonderful series.

Brilliant illustrations! When I recently got to see Paris for the first time, I remembered Eloise on that motorbike in that giant traffic circle!!
Absolutely delightful FTT! I love Bea’s and Harriet’s book reviews and Belle’s supersweet gift idea for ice cream and books !
Also love Cat’s What the Dog Knows!
