We hoped to write a longer post today about environmental clubs, activities, and initiatives you can start or suggest at your school—but we got sidelined by various things, mostly school itself, which continued for me and Beatrice and started this week for Harriet.
But we’re working on it, and in the meantime thought we’d ask you if you have ideas or suggestions for good kids’ environmental organizations to include in our round-up? Please tell us below:
And take a look at these leopard frogs we saw this afternoon in a fountain outside McIntyre’s Books at Fearrington. They were not shy at all, and seemed to pose for Bea, who took these photos…
(You can read about and listen to calls from a lot of different species of frogs on the Association of Zoos and Aquariums website.)
Any plans this weekend? Bea and I are planning to kayak again tomorrow!
Stay safe, and enjoy the changing light.
Great pics, Bea! Growing up, my sisters and I were in a club called 4-H where we learned to sew, cook, can, freeze, and do simple projects with electricity and animals ( pigs, chickens). We also worked in the garden growing all the veggies we would eat in the wintertime. Perhaps this club might be considered “ environmentally friendly” and you could check it out to see if there is 4-H in your area. Pat
Take care, and have a wonderful time kayaking! My love to all.
