“Surprises always come to me.” Harriet said this the other day and I had to write it down. She gets up fairly early, and is also a fan of a thing she calls a sparkle walk. I asked her if she’d share it with you and she said “sure.” I asked if it was better to do alone or with another person and she said, “you can choose.”
Here it is:
How to go for a sparkle walk:
First thing in the morning, put on your clothes and go outside. More frogs and more sparkles will be out when it’s just a little bit hot and humid.
There will be a little dew on the grass. That means that it’s perfect.
Then, look for sparkles on your walk. Sparkles are things that you like that are are cute and beautiful or cool. Those are what sparkles are.
For example, a sparkle for me is a tiny frog. You can see tiny and medium frogs right now, hopping in the grass or on a path. Sometimes they’re red, sometimes brown. They can be green also, but I’ve just seen the red and brown ones.
A new leaf on a plant is a sparkle.
A heart-shaped leaf is a sparkle.
So is a heart-shaped rock.
Visiting a neighbor’s nice dog is also a sparkle.
In the garden, butterflies, bees, and plants that are doing good are all sparkles.
A watermelon and a cataloupe that’s ready to pick is a sparkle. If it’s not ready to pick, it’s a future sparkle.
How about you, Frog Troublers? Anything in nature that’s sparkling for you? We’re going to a dog’s Sweet Sixteen party today and that should be a great distraction from the heat, etc., etc.
Love from all of us.
We wish you all kinds of pretty butterflies, Harriet. Lots of love and hugs and kisses. Grandpa
Thank you, Harriet, for sharing. I really needed a sparkle walk tutoring this morning. Made my day!
