Thank you, Belle, for your wonderful & uplifting words, stories, and how you show us what can be done within this dark moment. Especially too that you include your young daughters in how to find the joys, the work, and the meanings of togetherness and power versus aloneness & despair. Thank you. Thank you for so much love. I need it. I need it to share with my own daughter who’s working three jobs, who doesn’t have as much time to be with her three young daughters while they’re growing up. Thank you for your constant examples - successes & some failures too. That’s an honest life. Today we, Gpa&Gma, will help granddaughters get ready for the upcoming school year which starts in early August here in Arizona. It will be fun making these good memories & most likely making cold fruit smoothies in our 100+ degree temps too!!! Take gentle care all :-)
Dear Jeannette, thank you for this comment--and I am in sorrow but also admiration that your daughter is working so hard to care for her three daughters. She should not have to work three jobs, no one should: that was the message of this union conference which was filled with so much hopeful solidarity (despite the smoke and destruction). I hope you have a wonderful time getting ready for school--I am thinking about that too! Bea has lately taken to making watermelon-lime coolers, with just blended watermelon and lime juice and ice and a little sugar. Delicious!
